Alex Bond - Short travel , Photo and Video

New video and a few of the many photos I shot at the start of this week just gone up in North Wales with Alex Bond.

The video is to run alongside the Alex Bond interview in the next issue of www.Wideopenmag.co.ukthat I was really up there shooting for, lots of great lifestyle shots and riding stuff, all really good, will be one hell of an article!

Anyway More on the video:

Shot over 3 days in North Wales on various tracks all close to Als place...

All on his Short travel bike and gets a bit wild and is just a bit different really...opens up a lot more stuff to shoot...

First real shoot and video Shot with my new Canon 5d3 and I'm just even more impressed by it.

The Dynamic range and colours are amazing, the detail in the shots once you grade them is amazing, the slow mo is just better than on my 550d for some reason, and this video was planned and sorted in my head before shooting even started so it was easy to get it just right.

I'm really happy with this one and for any other info on gear/how/why etc just leave a comment and I will either comment back or edit the main post...

Be sure to check out http://wideopenmag.co.uk/ for some more pics, video and when the new issue drops ( should be soonish ) the full article...

The weird roosty beard forehead riding title screen shot I made...
Foot out and getting loose as shit even with a dodgy shoulder
Al and his beloved truck on top of some mountain at sunset, hell of a place!
Again throwing a foot off and riding faster than I could ever hope to on a full DH bike on his XC bike...

And the video, as I said above, any questions just ask...

  1. Cool edit! May I ask - did you have any issues with 5dm3 yet? I`ve seen movies with top LCD light leak and video from 5dm3 vs 5dm2 test where 5dm2 was sharper. Can you say something about it? Going to get new camera for mtb photo and video shooting this summer, thinking about 7d vs 5dm3. OFC fullframe is better but I`m not happy with it price and issues.
    Thx.

  2. I dont have a bad word about it, its everything I wanted from it and more. Ignor the haters and pixel peepers, unless you do very secific things that you dont do very offten at all in the real world you wont ever have any issues with it. With regards to the sharpness, the footage right off the camera is a bit soft and dull but it just means it grades incredibly well and once graded, as you can see looks amazing...
